Bethany Marett: Interior Light
June 15 @ 10:00 am - July 2 @ 4:00 pmFree
Interior Light explores the tactility, materiality, and complex processes involved in the many branches of printmaking.
With a focus on the techniques of reduction woodcut and etching, current Artist in Residence at St Edward’s School, Bethany Marett, showcases her diverse body of work made during her tenure at Teddies.
Her colourful reduction woodcuts draw focus to moments of beauty and quiet found in the everyday, while her enigmatic etchings evoke corporeality. Bethany explores the nuances of the figurative, in both an abstract and overt way, presenting an engaging exhibition that reminds us how bodies can be so many things – vulnerable, beautiful, powerful, and uncanny, all at once.
Bethany Marett is a multi-disciplinary artist and arts educator, working primarily in printmaking, sculpture and photography.
