Witness the original gothic horror in this brand new faithful adaptation of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. Experience the tragic tale of Victor Frankenstein as he risks his life, his family, and his sanity to reanimate the dead, and suffers the unthinkable consequences. This thrilling, fast paced play features Shelley’s exquisite language and ever pertinent themes of ambition, alienation, revenge, and family, as well as physical theatre underscored by live traditional sea shanties.

Join the theatre on board Captain Walton’s ship as he sails for the North Pole; but the expedition is interrupted by an unexpected visitor: Victor Frankenstein. As Victor regales his life story, the sailors on board embody the characters from his life, from his lover Elizabeth to the terrifying Monster himself.

This adaptation stays true to the original plot and themes of the book, making this show perfect for students studying the novel at GCSE, A-Level, or beyond, as well as for literary enthusiasts and lovers of new theatre.

Past productions from Wild Goose Theatre have been praised as “must-see”, “enjoyable and compelling”, and “fully the match of the Old Vic” (Oxford Times).

Showing 31st Jan – 5th Feb. Tue – Sat 19:30, Sat – Sun 14:00.
