The acclaimed pianist Jack Gibbons makes a rare Christmas visit to Oxford from the United States, to give a special concert in celebration of Christmas and the winter solstice. The programme includes Gibbons’ virtuoso piano arrangements of Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite, Winter from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, the Pastorale from Corelli’s Christmas Concerto, plus Schubert’s Ave Maria (arranged Liszt) and more seasonal works by Tchaikovsky, Chopin, Schumann, Liszt, Debussy and Gibbons.
