Literary Escape Festival is coming to Oxford!

Join for on Saturday 12 September 2026 at West Oxford Community Centre for a relaxed, welcoming celebration of books, independent authors and the people who make the book world so brilliant.

Whether you’re a lifelong bookworm, an occasional reader, always looking for your next great read, or simply curious to discover something different, you’re very welcome.

Expect a brilliant mix of independent authors, creative businesses and bookish stalls, with plenty of opportunities to browse, chat, discover new books and meet the people behind them.

Literary Escape Festival is about the people and stories behind independent publishing.Come and hear authors talk about their books, ask questions, discover new writers and find books you might never come across in a high-street shop.

You can browse a wide range of genres and meet authors at their own stalls, where they’re happy to chat about their books and what inspired them to write. You’ll also find creative businesses bringing along bookish and handmade goodies, making it the perfect place to find something a little different.
