This WitchHike delves into the peril of female choice, walking to the ruins of Godstow Abbey. we follow the traces of the abbey’s dream-born origins; the story of Fair Rosamund, royal mistress turned outcast; & the legend of the Godstow Witch, shaped by poverty & suspicion. Join us where river meets ruin, where myth and memory linger, and where choosing your own path could make you sacred, scandalous, or both.

This WitchHike will meet at the Port Meadow South Car Park on Walton Well Road (What Three Words: ///sparks.magic.fired), and will walk along the River Thames through Port Meadow to Godstow Abbey. Along the way stop to learn about the foundational myths of the Abbey, the Legend of the Godstow Witch, and the tale of Fair Rosamund, mistress to a King and enemy of a Queen. The hike will end at the Trout Inn in Wolvercote, and there is regular bus service back to town from Wolvercote.
The hike lasts around 1hr and 30minutes, and takes place on uneven and sometimes muddy ground.
