Commercial Accountant & Reporting Lead – Ashmolean Museum
Based at the beautiful Ashmolean museum within their small finance team of 5,which comprises of a Head of Finance, this role, a management accountant, a finance analyst, accounts supervisor and finance assistant, supporting the museum with crucial decision-making support for all commercial activities.
You will provide reporting and analysis for all commercial activities of the museum, supporting the commercial director and commercial heads in addition to the exhibition manager with reporting, analysis, budgeting, forecasting and planning. You will lead on the transformation of financial reporting, developing and improving reports across the museum that are timely, accurate and better support decision-making. This will include making recommendations for improvements in the planning, budgeting and forecasting tools currently used. The role includes line management of 2 members of the team responsible for transactional processing and banking across the museum.
You will be a qualified accountant with a Strong understanding and experience of financial IT systems, ideally Oracle Financials, including advanced Excel and reporting development experience. You will have experience of working in a commercial environment and ability to identity opportunities to drive bottom line performance. You will have experience of supervising team members with the ability to build good working relationships with a variety of staff across the museum, central finance and other management to perform the role effectively . You will be able to organise your own workload and work to deadlines, generating reporting and analysis with high attention to detail.
This is a full time role on a 1 year fixed full time term contract, with the potential to convert to a permanent role after 1 year. The successful candidate is expected to start in early March.
