GLAM Marketing Officer
Oxford University’s Gardens, Libraries, and Museums (GLAM) encompass some of the world’s most significant collections, comprising of the Ashmolean Museum, Bodleian Libraries, History of Science Museum, Museum of Natural History, Oxford Botanic Garden & Arboretum, and the Pitt Rivers Museum. These institutions play a vital role in supporting the University’s teaching, research, and community engagement goals, while also serving as the public face of the University.
This is an exciting opportunity to join GLAM’s Marketing & Communications team in a role that is pivotal in supporting and delivering day-to-day marketing activities, driving awareness, and increasing visitor numbers across the GLAM institutions and the wider GLAM division.
This is a 2-year fixed term, part-time post (2.5 days per week). The role supports a hybrid working model, with the expectation of working on-site at least 60% of the time. Some weekend work may be required as part of this role.
This role requires Lone Working and regular manual handling.
About You
You will support the planning and delivery of both online and offline marketing campaigns, helping to promote GLAM and its institutions. You will manage smaller marketing campaigns, working closely with internal stakeholders and, where necessary, external agencies. You will also be responsible for creating and managing marketing assets, conducting market research and evaluation, and writing and editing a range of marketing materials, as well as managing marketing budgets and maintaining relationships with key suppliers.
You will have marketing experience in both online and offline advertising, with proven skills in digital marketing across various channels, including experience in creating compelling marketing content for different platforms and audiences. You will have excellent writing skills and the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly to a non-specialist audience, with strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
