Information Specialist (Part-time) – Bodleian Libraries

The Bodleian Libraries are looking for someone who can make a real difference to the services their Outreach and Enquiry team deliver to the staff and students in the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust and University of Oxford Medical Sciences Division. This includes supporting the research, teaching/learning, clinical care, and other needs of our NHS and University users.

Working as part of the BHCL Outreach team you will develop and deliver a range of services, including literature searching and training (face-to-face/ online), to staff and students in the areas of Anaesthetics; Cardiovascular Medicine; Surgery; and Theatres and in other areas as required.

You will hold a librarian qualification or relevant degree level subject. Also, you be able to demonstrate professional knowledge of systematic review methodologies and evidence-based practice.

This is a part-time, fixed-term position, working 30 hours per week until 31 March 2025, based at the Cairns Library, John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford.

The Bodleian Health Care Libraries are located at three sites in Headington – the John Radcliffe Hospital, the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, the Old Road Campus Research Building and at the Horton Hospital in Banbury. The Libraries’ main users are NHS staff in the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust; researchers and clinical students from the University of Oxford; and healthcare students from Oxford Brookes University.
