Senior Library Assistant: Inter-Library Loans
The Bodleian Libraries are seeking a Senior Library Assistant to join the Inter-Library Loans team, based at the Old Schools Quad at the Bodleian Library.
You will source items not held in Oxford collections on behalf of Oxford University readers, locating items in libraries both in the UK and internationally, submitting requests, and receiving and providing supplied documents and loans to readers. You will also supply items from Bodleian collections to other libraries, in line with set policies and procedures, as well as responding to queries from both Oxford readers and external libraries regarding inter-library loans.
This is a full-time, fixed-term position, working 36.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday) for 12 months.
This role will involve regular manual handling, and lone-working may be required from time to time.
About You
You will have previous experience of working in a library, as well as excellent communication and organisational skills. Accuracy and attention to detail, good team work and IT skills are also essential. Experience of inter-library loans and using the Alma Library Management System would be beneficial but not essential as full training will be provided.
