Celebrate Mother’s Day with The Alice in Oxford

This Mother’s Day, The Alice – Oxford’s all-day dining restaurant and bar set within The Randolph Hotel by Graduate Hotels® – is celebrating the occasion with an array of foodie offerings. Executive Chef Rhys Grayson, has created a Mothering Sunday Roasts and Afternoon Tea menu, the perfect treat for any mother this year. To mark the day and enhance the experience, Afternoon Tea at The Alice will also be accompanied by live music from a live pianist playing an eclectic mixture of chart hits and loved classics.

Mother’s Day Roast (£24pp)
Priced at £24pp, The Alice’s Sunday Roasts menu will be heavily influenced by produce available from local suppliers in Oxfordshire, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire. Guests can expect a choice of hearty mains including a 55 day dry aged Roast rump of beef or roast Goosnargh chicken complete with all the trimmings; braised cabbage, maple roasted parsnips and carrots, seasonal buttered greens, Yorkshire pudding and beef fat potatoes, plus a rich red wine sauce. Guests can supplement their roasts with starters and desserts from The Alice’s a la carte menu including citrus cured salmon with smoked organic beetroot, cucumber and almonds, and celeriac, apple and truffle soup with toasted sourdough and to finish dishes include layered iced parfait with dark chocolate, matcha, strawberry and vanilla and Yorkshire rhubarb, vanilla creme brulee with rhubarb sorbet and rosemary shortbread.

Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea (£39-£49pp)
For something sweet, The Alice will be offering a quintessentially English Afternoon Tea experience, accompanied by music from a live pianist playing an array of classical and popular music to entertain guests. Liam’s take on the traditional afternoon tea is hosted in the hotel’s beautiful Drawing and Lancaster Rooms, both overlooking Oxford’s celebrated Ashmolean Museum. From £39pp the menu offers a selection of delectable savouries including, pork, sage & apricot sausage roll and smoked salmon, horseradish & black pepper finger sandwiches and sweet treats such as matcha & chia macaron and passionfruit tart plus plain and fruit scones with handmade preserves and clotted cream. Alongside traditional teas by Canton Teas to enjoy as standard, for £49pp, The Alice’s afternoon tea will arrive complete with a glass of champagne.

For those unable to dine on the day, The Alice also offers an array of dining experiences as luxury gift vouchers. From unique cocktails at the opulent Morse Bar or bohemian cocktail lounge, ‘The Snug’, (from £20) and wellness vouchers for luxury treatments and products (from £50), to an evening meal for two at The Alice, celebrated for its seasonal British dishes with a contemporary twist (£100 for two), there is a multitude of gifts on offer that make a thoughtful gift for Mother’s Day.
