SOFO offers visitors engaging and immersive experiences for all ages through a programme of changing exhibitions and permanent displays in our main gallery, including a recreated Great War trench dugout, a mock up section of a Horsa Glider and a chance to have a go at sending and receiving wartime coded messages.

The galleries take visitors through the life of a 21st Century Soldier, detail the ‘Blood and War’ of the frontline throughout time, and tell the story of Winston Churchill service with the Queens Own Oxfordshire Hussars. Our Liberation of Bergen-Belsen exhibition tells raw, personal stories of the camp from the perspectives of both survivors and soldiers of the Oxfordshire Yeomanry.

Please visit our website for details of current temporary exhibitions, events and more.
