Uncomfortable Oxford is a brand-new social enterprise which runs walking tours, museum tours, public lectures, discussion cafes, and more! Founded by two Doctoral students in 2019, it seeks to raise awareness and discussion about difficult aspects of history which still are visible and present today.
Walk the streets with a critical eye and learn about Oxford’s deep connections to Empire, its legacies of wealth and privilege, and its uncomfortable alumni. Uncover untold stories left out of the traditional narrative of the ‘Dreaming Spires’ and engage in a discussion which seeks to find a productive method of handling the complex issues of class, gender, and ethnic disparities in the town and university.
A walking tour experience like no other!
