Casual Gate Porter

Christ Church are seeking a friendly, confident and reliable individual with excellent customer service skills to join the Lodge team. Duties include staffing the main gates and the reception and direction of visitors.  Skills/experience required include delivering a high level of customer service and confidence in dealing with the public, strong communication skills (written and verbal), security experience desirable, capability in the use of technology and ability to work independently or as part of a team.  Must be flexible and able to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings and weekends, between 07:00 and 19:30, Monday to Sunday, to suit the needs of the college.  Availability to work weekends on a regular basis is pre-requisite.  £12.49 per hour.

Casual Shop Assistants (June to end September)

Friendly and confident individuals with excellent customer service skills and retail experience are required to join a small team in the gift shop, located in the beautiful meadows of Christ Church.  Responsibilities include unpacking and checking deliveries, pricing and merchandising, cashing up tills, maintaining sales records and assisting with customers.  £12.49 per hour.

Full-Time Senior SCR Assistant

University Scale Grade 4.6: £28,759 pa

Christ Church are seeking a motivated, reliable and experienced individual with excellent customer and catering service skills to join a small team to provide high standards of food and beverage service to the Senior Common Room.  Applicants must be confident to deputise for the two managers and possess a good knowledge of food safety and basic IT skills.  A knowledge of food allergens is desirable, though training will be provided.  Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to suit the needs of the college.  40 hours per week.

Casual Bar Persons

Experienced, reliable and friendly individuals are required to join a busy, small team running a major wine cellar and providing bar and function services to college members, guests, students and visitors.  Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and Saturdays, to suit the needs of the college.  £12.49 per hour.

Full-Time Chef de Partie

University Scale Grade 4.7*: £29,605 pa

An exciting opportunity for a qualified and experienced professional to join a large kitchen brigade in one of Oxford’s busiest and most prestigious college kitchens.  You will be preparing a wide range of wholesome meals using the finest ingredients for our students, as well as using your skills for fine dining menus for High Table, Guest Nights, banquets, buffets and conferencing – all to the very highest standards.  We welcome enthusiastic chefs with drive looking for a role where they can put their creativity and imagination into practice.  Personal development, progression and training is encouraged. Competitive salary and 5 weeks’ annual leave. Flexibility to work 40 hours per week over 5 days, including alternate weekends based on a rota, is essential.

Part-time Seasonal Visitor Service Assistants (Custodians) (June to September)

Friendly and confident individuals with excellent customer service skills required to join the team which supports Christ Church’s busy visitor business.  Duties include staffing the visitor route in the college, selling tickets, issuing multimedia guides and welcoming visitors (groups and individuals). Flexibility required to work a variety of shifts, including weekends. Up to c.30 hours per week. Variable start/end dates and hours available from mid-June to end of September. Additional shifts available at peak times of year. £12.49 per hour.

Part-time Seasonal Security Person (June to September)

Reliable, confident, personable and professional individuals with excellent customer service skills are being sought to provide a security presence in Christ Church’s Visitor Centre and surrounding area. Part-time positions available Mondays to Saturdays 10.30 – 16.30 and Sundays 11.30 – 16.30. Additional shifts available at peak times of year. £12.49 per hour.

Casual Summer Scouts/Cleaners

Cleaners required to join hard-working housekeeping team from June to end September, working c.5 hour shifts, Monday to Friday. Flexibility required to work extra hours during busy periods (including some weekends), to suit the needs of the college, including varying start/finish times. Would suit motivated, reliable individuals with high standards of cleaning. £12.49 per hour.

Part-Time Scouts (weekends) – two posts

Weekend cleaners required to join hard-working housekeeping team. Would suit motivated, reliable individuals with high standards of cleaning.  12 hours per week (6-month, fixed term contract, working in our Visitor Centre, located in the meadows of Christ Church) and 8 hours per week (permanent), Saturday to Sunday.  Flexibility required to work extra hours during busy periods to suit the needs of the college. £12.49 per hour.
