Redefining Automotive History!

The way that classic cars are promoted at rallies is set to change forever, thanks to QR codes.

For the last century, classic car owners have had to rely on paper documents for literally everything, but modern technology is set to change the way we view car heritage.

After Cloud, a digital preservation company, is transforming heritage with a new app called Timelines. The app gives owners of prestigious cars the ability to document their vehicle’s history over time, to craft a compelling digital narrative and generates an interactive web page, accompanied by a unique QR code, serving as a passport to the vehicle’s rich history. It is proving ideal for showcasing at events or during the sales process.

“This goes beyond traditional record-keeping, offering an engaging way to chronicle the journey of each unique vehicle,” said Darren Evans, CEO of After Cloud. “We are thrilled to introduce this innovative technology, which will undoubtedly reshape how car enthusiasts connect with their vehicles’ past.”

The MG Car Club and MG Owners Club with others soon to be announced, highlight the industry’s excitement for this cutting-edge technology. Andy Knott (Club Manager) of The MG Car Club, expressed similar enthusiasm, stating, “This aligns perfectly with our mission to celebrate the history and passion of MG ownership. We believe it will become an invaluable tool for our members to showcase the unique stories behind their cherished MG vehicles.”

John Watson’s MG MGB Mk1 (pictured) is one of the first cars to have a Timeline. This iconic vehicle holds a special place in automotive history, having been chosen to be featured on the Royal Mail’s British Auto Legends stamp collection 2013.

“The selection of John’s MGB for the Royal Mail’s British car stamp collection was a testament to the vehicle’s significance in British automotive heritage, and we are now ushering in a new era of digital heritage preservation in the automotive world.” Added Darren.
