ISHKAR is hosting a rug sale in the stunning grounds of Ashall Manor, Oxfordshire on Saturday the 13th of September, where there will be up to 30% off a selection of signature flatweave and hand-knotted rugs. Visitors will have the opportunity to shop a wide range of designs and sizes, including one-off, unique pieces, all masterfully handcrafted in Afghanistan.

The Rugs:

Since 2016 ISHKAR has worked with master weavers in Afghanistan to produce luxurious hand-knotted and handwoven rugs which marry traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design.

Every ISHKAR rug is made from Ghazni wool. This wool – unique to Afghanistan due to its terrain and climate – imbues every rug with a silky, luxuriant finish, absorbing and reflecting colour with rich abrash.

From the spinning and dying of the wool, to the cutting and washing of the final rug, every step of the production process is made by hand. Each piece has its own individual character and bears the distinct mark of the artisans who brought it to life.
