The acclaimed pianist and composer JACK GIBBONS is joined by award-winning pianist SARAH BETH BRIGGS for an evening of much loved piano duets by Schubert, Fauré, Schumann’s masterly Piano Quintet Op.44 in a rarely performed piano duet transcription by Clara Schumann, and the world premiere of Gibbons’ transcription for piano duet of Gershwin’s dazzling Girl Crazy Overture (featuring the classic songs I Got Rhythm and Embraceable You). The youngest-ever finalist in the BBC Young Musician at 11, Sarah Beth Briggs went on to win the prestigious International Mozart Competition in Salzburg at just 15, and has since played and recorded with leading orchestras around the world. This concert marks her Oxford debut.
