Menopause and Voice Workshop – St Hilda’s College

Menopause and Voice Workshop – St Hilda’s College
Sat 7 Mar, 18:30 - 20:30
St Hilda's College, University of Oxford, Oxford
Menopause and Voice is an in-person, small-group workshop exploring how the everyday speaking voice can change during perimenopause and menopause, and how these changes can be understood and supported in daily professional and social life.
Voice changes during menopause are real and manageable.
They often develop gradually and may be experienced as vocal fatigue, reduced stamina, increased effort when speaking, or a sense that the voice feels less reliable across the day. In work and social settings, these subtle shifts can quietly influence clarity, presence and confidence. This Oxford workshop is offered as an extended two-hour session, allowing time for deeper listening, regulation and integration. The work is experience-led and non-clinical, grounded in body awareness and real-life communication, and does not involve diagnosis or performance-based voice training. Participants are guided to:
* notice patterns of vocal effort, tension and fatigue
* understand how voice, breath and bodily awareness interact during hormonal change
* explore practical ways to support ease, stamina and sustainability in everyday voice use The session is delivered in a small-group format to support attentiveness, reflection and individual experience.
No previous voice or singing experience is required. Who this workshop may be particularly supportive for
