CAPTION is the Oxford-based longest-running comics festival in the UK and this year the theme is Pirates! Seacourt Hall will host two days of panels, workshops and talks. There’s treasure to behold with our dedicated shared comics sales table and the unique specially commissioned Pirate Caption tee-shirt. We need no tavern for hearty entertainment such as sketching tables, an art auction, pirates’ pub quiz, comics classics’ theatre, pizza and mead. (BYOM)

Since it’s beginning in 1992 Caption’s focus has been on independent and small press comics. It’s always been a little rebellious and disruptive, aiming to remove the barriers to ‘breaking into comics’ and value every voice. With a long list of prestigious guests over the years, it also boasts helping many new creators to ‘get their feet wet’ in comics. With a strong emphasis of socialising and community, Caption is the perfect environment for networking, exchanging advice and making friends.
