Oxford Sinfonia is excited to welcome back Dexter Drown to conduct us in a programme of Prokofiev’s Classical Symphony, Tchaikovsky’s Rococo variations, Mozart’s Cosi fan Tutti overture and Schumann’s 2nd Symphony.

Our soloist Kosta Popović is a young, exciting cellist from Montenegro, known for his versatility as a soloist, chamber and orchestral musician. Kosta has performed across the UK, Spain, Belgium, France, and the Netherlands. With the acclaimed Fibonacci Quartet, he has appeared at major festivals, on BBC Radio 3’s In Tune and in 2023 won the CAVATINA Intercollegiate Chamber Music Competition at Wigmore Hall.
Dexter Drown is an imaginative up and coming conductor who has been praised for his utterly magical performances of passion, confidence and flair. Growing up in Oxford, Dexter gained a distinction in the Master’s in Orchestral Conducting at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. He is the Winner of the Michael Beech Conducting Award and the Abingdon Music Festival Conducting Competition and has been fortunate to participate in the Garsington Opera Conductor Mentorship Programme.
