The Orchestra of St John’s is joined at its Dorchester Abbey home by pianist Jeneba Kanneh-Mason for her keenly-anticipated debut as OSJ Artist in Residence. Her first performance with the orchestra – Ravel last February – was electrifying and led immediately to an invitation to take on a more formal association. In this concert on Saturday 7 November she explores the brilliant jazz-influenced soundworld of Gershwin’s iconic Rhapsody in Blue, part of a programme that glories in the spirit of jazz and dance, with Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite and two of Ginastera’s exhilarating Spanish dances.
