Experience Oxfordshire announces new Board appointment

9 April 2026 – The Chair of Experience Oxfordshire, Stuart Crook, and his fellow Board Directors and Trustees are delighted to welcome Alexandra Vincent MBE to the Experience Oxfordshire Board.

Alexandra Vincent is the Chief Operating Officer for the Humanities Division and Managing Director for the Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities at the University of Oxford. Core to Alex’s role is overseeing the strategy, operation, and governance of the Humanities Division, one of the four academic divisions of the University. This includes responsibility for setting the strategy and overseeing the operations of the Schwarzman Centre and it’s cultural, schools and commercial programmes.

Experience Oxfordshire is the Destination Management Organisation (DMO) and VisitEngland accredited Local Visitor Economy Partnership (LVEP) for Oxfordshire. It is a partnership organisation focused on driving growth across the visitor economy of Oxfordshire in a productive, sustainable way.

Prior to moving to the University of Oxford, Alex was Chief Operating Officer at the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) and UKRI International. During her time at AHRC Alex oversaw the establishment of several multi-million pound programmes including CoSTAR, investment into a network of labs and facilities for R&D in the creative industries, and the Creative Industries Clusters Programme, a multi-million pound research initiative bringing together academia and business to provide solutions to the challenges facing the sector. Alex was awarded an MBE for services to research funding in 2024. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and the Royal Society of Arts.

Commenting on her appointment, Stuart Crook, said: “We are delighted to have Alex, with her impressive skill set, join us at Experience Oxfordshire. Her previous achievements in fostering successful initiatives; her experience of identifying opportunities for collaboration within the creative industries; and, in addition, the excellent contribution she is currently making in Oxford at the wonderful new Schwarzman Centre, will bring very welcome additional knowledge and insight of the cultural sector to our Board of Directors and Trustees.”

In response to her appointment, Alexandra Vincent MBE said: “Tourism and the cultural and creative industries are symbiotic sectors. Where they collaborate well the visitor economy flourishes and, through its work, Experience Oxfordshire has proven its commitment to enabling this. I am delighted to have the opportunity to join such an energetic board and to publicly support Experience Oxfordshire, our LVEP, who works so well in advocating for the sector amongst key influencers and national decision makers and in promoting our city and county within the UK and to the rest of the world.”

Board Directors and Trustees of Experience Oxfordshire are drawn from all sectors of the local business community, with each one sharing their expertise and experience on a voluntary basis. This invaluable support enables the company to continue to flourish as a leading destination management organisation and the county’s official LVEP, as it grows and develops the visitor economy.
