Westgate Oxford announces free programme of events this half term
Westgate Oxford is hosting a series of free activities on Leiden Square this half term to keep the whole family entertained, from curious treasure trails and crafting capers to magical story sessions.
The centre’s Alice in Wonderland-themed Hatter’s Hunt trail, produced in partnership with The Story Museum, invites guests of all ages to go down a rabbit hole of clues, riddles, and surprises to find the five plaques hidden throughout the centre.
To participate, guests can pick up a free trail map from the Hatter’s Hunt kiosk. Once the map is completed, families can return it to a member of the Guest Experience team to receive prizes including books and more.
The centre’s Crafting Club will also return from Monday 16th – Friday 20th February, from 11am – 5pm. Guests can get creative with a variety of Alice in Wonderland-themed activities, including mask decorating as well as bookmark and coaster making.
In partnership with Westgate Oxford’s Library, the centre will also be hosting Story Time sessions at 1pm on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, while Rhyme Time sessions will take place at 11am on Tuesday and Thursday.
Guests can also enjoy the ‘ART and PLAY’ installation, an interactive 3D space featuring colourful cubes, archways, and smooth slides designed to spark imagination and allow people of all ages to come together to play, rest, and connect.
To complete a full day out at Westgate Oxford, shoppers can take advantage of the centre’s range of family-friendly dining options, including Dirty Bones which is running an exclusive ‘Kids Eat Free’ offer until 16th March. Little ones can also enjoy dedicated kids’ menus at restaurants including Mowgli and Victors. For guests looking for a more casual dining environment, Westgate Social provides a variety of grab-and-go options including Slice & Dice, Benito’s, and more.
Families can also enjoy the centre’s vibrant mix of leisure experiences, from catching one of the latest releases at Curzon Cinema to solving mysteries at Escape Hunt, putting a hole in one at Junkyard Golf, or testing their batting skills at Sixes Social Cricket.
