Experience Oxfordshire Bring Partners Back Together at Networking Event with New Theatre Oxford

Experience Oxfordshire, the Destination Management Organisation (DMO) for Oxfordshire, welcomed partners and guests to their first in person networking event since the pandemic at the New Theatre Oxford.

The event, which took place on the 18th August, was attended by Experience Oxfordshire Partners and the local business community as part of Experience Oxfordshire’s business support, to help bring partners together to collaborate and build back together post pandemic. The event saw partners re-connect and discuss key industry issues and future opportunities.

The event was also the perfect opportunity for the team at the New Theatre Oxford to test their new contactless ticketing system and Covid safe procedures prior to their re-opening night on the 23rd August with the musical production ‘Priscilla Queen of the Desert’. The first show at the theatre since it closed in mid-March 2020 at the start of the pandemic.

Showcasing the theatre ahead of their official re-opening the team at the New Theatre Oxford hosted guests in the Piano Bar where the attendees had the opportunity to network and presentations were given by both Experience Oxfordshire and the New Theatre Oxford in the auditorium. Guests were also given the chance to have an exclusive behind the scenes guided tour of the theatre’s backstage and conference facilities.

David O’Hara, Theatre Director at New Theatre Oxford, commented on hosting the event:

“It was a pleasure to host the event and welcome Experience Oxfordshire’s Partners to the theatre; showcasing the venue and its facilities as well as giving us the opportunity to test our procedures ready for our re-opening night later this month. It was great to be able to network in person again and we hope that everyone enjoyed their time at the theatre.”

Hayley Beer-Gamage, Chief Executive of Experience Oxfordshire said:

“We were delighted to welcome so many of our partners to our first face-to-face networking event since March 2020. It was great to be able to host this at the New Theatre Oxford and to support the team in their re-opening preparations. The event was also an opportunity to update our partners on the many exciting projects that Experience Oxfordshire are involved with and our continuing support for Oxfordshire’s visitor economy recovery. Networking events are one of the many benefits of being a partner and it was great to see so many businesses reconnecting at this event.”
