Flight Club launches billionth dart countdown with epic prize

After over a decade of unforgettable nights, from birthday blowouts to epic office showdowns and Sunday brunch tournaments, Flight Club, the Social Darts pioneers, have announced they are on the edge of hitting a gargantuan one billion darts thrown across their 31 venues globally. Today, Flight Club is calling on the people of Oxford to get them there and be in with the chance to win some unreal prizes.
BOOK SOCIAL DARTS, WIN BIG
Starting today, anyone who books a session of Social Darts or a bottomless brunch at any Flight Club venue will be automatically entered into the prize draw of a lifetime. The winner, and three of their friends or family, will get a trip to a destination of their choice, anywhere in the world where there’s a Flight Club. Vegas, Sydney, Chicago, Melbourne, Dublin, Perth. The list goes on. The grand prize includes return flights, a five-night hotel stay and a VIP night out at the local Flight Club.
And if that wasn’t enough to get plans with your mates out of the group chat and into Flight Club, quick-sharp, the OG of activity bars is also giving away a money-can’t-buy Flight Club Gold Card. The one-in-a-billion, VVVIP Gold Card will entitle the lucky winner and 11 of their friends to free Social Darts at Flight Club for life.
MORE PRIZES ALONG THE WAY
The big trip and Social Darts for life aren’t the only things up for grabs. From today, as the countdown to a billion truly kicks off, every Flight Club venue across the UK will be surprising and delighting guests with daily treats, from complimentary drinks to bar tabs.
OXFORD’S SOCIALISING HABITS REVEALED
Over the last decade, having hosted more than 14.4 million people across 12 different cities in the UK alone, Flight Club knows a thing or two about the nation’s socialising habits. As the billion darts mark approaches, today the Social Darts bar releases its inaugural Flight Club Social Index, revealing the lay of the land when it comes to going out and getting competitive.
The Index, based on Flight Club’s proprietary booking and gaming data, reveals some surprising insights into the socialising styles of the UK’s key cities, including Oxford.
The Competition Kings:
Oxford has officially been named the second most competitive city in the UK. Throwing over 380 darts per hour, Oxford’s Social Darts players are showing a relentless, high-velocity style of play that puts most of the country to shame. Only Bristol manages to outpace them (averaging 406 per hour), but with such a rapid-fire approach to the game, Oxford is breathing down their necks for the top spot. Will Oxford find that extra gear to out-throw the West Country and become the UK’s undisputed Competition Kings?
The Late-Night Legends:
When it comes to the UK’s night owls, Oxford sits comfortably in the middle of the pack, ranking fifth in the Late-Night Legends category for bookings after 10 pm. They also mirror this consistency earlier in the evening, placing fifth in the Home-by-10-Heroes category (bookings between 5-8 pm). It seems Oxford values a balanced night out – neither rushing home early nor being the very last to leave the dancefloor, unlike the leaders of the late night in Bristol and Cheltenham.
The Mid-Week Masters:
Oxford appears to be a city that respects the traditional working week, placing ninth in the Mid-Week Masters rankings for Tuesday-to-Thursday socialising. Similarly, the city ranks ninth in the Work Hard, Play Hard category for post-work Monday-to-Friday bookings between 5-7 pm. For Oxford, it looks like the focus remains firmly on the nine-to-five during the week, saving their energy for a well-earned weekend blowout.
At the other end of the scale, London and Newcastle top the Mid-Week Masters and Work Hard, Play Hard categories respectively. While some cities can’t resist the allure of a cheeky mid-week night out, Oxford prefers to keep its social battery on charge until the weekend.
The Social Butterflies:
While Birmingham tops the charts for the largest group sizes, Oxford takes a much more selective approach to socialising. The city ranks second to last in the Social Butterflies category, suggesting that Oxford prefers more intimate gatherings over bigger crowds. In Oxford, it’s all about the inner circle, with only Liverpool favouring smaller group sizes for their Flight Club get-togethers.
Oxford’s Favourite Game:
In Oxford, and across every single UK city in fact, Demolition is revealed as Flight Club’s most-played game of the year. The fast-paced game sees players aim to demolish a virtual tower of blocks, reducing their score from 180 to zero. It’s one of seven games in total at Flight Club, including the brand-new Limbo, where, like the classic party game, players must go lower than the previous player.
The Social Super Stars:
Every city has its stand-out-stars but it’s Jake S who takes the top spot for Oxford in the Social Super Stars, clocking up 11 visits to Flight Club Oxford since it opened at the end of 2024. It’s Manchester’s Ben W who takes the top spot for the UK as he is crowned the nation’s most dedicated player, having clocked up an impressive 79 visits to Flight Club.
Steve Moore, CEO & Founder at Flight Club, said, “Reaching one billion darts is a massive moment for us. It’s a testament to every single guest who has stepped up to the oche to celebrate, compete, and have fun. We wanted to mark this with something truly epic – a trip to a Flight Club destination of your choice and free darts for life feels like the right way to thank the people who made this possible. We’ll be celebrating every single throw as we head towards the big one, and we can’t wait to see which city ends up claiming the honour of the billionth dart.”
