Housebuilder partners with Wildflower Co to launch community call out for garden makeover

Blenheim Estate Homes has collaborated with award-winning wildflower meadow experts, Wildflower Co, to launch a community initiative for one Oxford organisation to receive a biodiverse landscape makeover featuring the company’s ready-rolled turf to the value of £2,000.
The partnership is inviting community-led businesses and organisations across Oxford such as local schools, charities, care homes and the like to put themselves forward for the garden transformation.
To be considered, organisations are required to submit an inspiring 200-word entry to [email protected] explaining who they are, why they are putting their community forward, and an image of the current space they’d like transformed for the wildflower meadow makeover.
Oxford organisations will have until 24th May to submit their entries to be in with the chance of securing up to 50 sq metres of Wildflower Co turf as well as a hands-on guide for aftercare and maintenance.
The panel of judges that will nominate the winning organisation by 31st May with the aim for the ready-rolled turf to be installed by the end of June, will include:
- Charlie Davison, Commercial Director, Wildflower Co
- Martin Brown, Managing Director, Pye Homes
- Roy Cox, Managing Director, Estates at Blenheim Palace
- Merilyn Davies, Head of Community Engagement, Blenheim Palace
In addition to the makeover, the winning organisation can also enjoy an exclusive Blenheim Palace bundle including three family annual passes and afternoon tea for six worth an additional £723, which they can choose to gift to someone special in their community.
Formerly Wildflower Turf, Wildflower Co uses science-led, soil-free methods to make biodiverse landscapes simple, reliable and long-lasting. With each turf grown with an intact root system, UK-native species, and controlled nursery conditions, the company provides a variety of turf types to accommodate different environments, including shade-tolerant, native enriched, bespoke seed mix, low grow turf, and more.
Karis McMahon-Lane, Property Marketing Manager for Pye Homes and Blenheim Estate Homes, said: “This initiative with Wildflower Co couldn’t be a more natural fit for us as we introduce Hill Rise in Woodstock, our newest community and most sustainable development yet.
“We’re really looking forward to hearing all about the inspirational local organisations right on our doorstep. Choosing just one community makeover project will be no mean feat, but it’ll be so exciting to see the space of the lucky recipient transformed when the turf has been installed and is in full bloom in time for summer.”
Charlie Davison, Commercial Director, Wildflower Co, added: “This partnership with Blenheim Estate Homes is exactly what Wildflower Co is all about; making biodiversity accessible, practical and impactful at a community level. We’re proud to be working alongside the housebuilder on a project that not only enhances communities, but also supports the wider ambition of creating more resilient, nature-rich landscapes across the UK.
“We’re excited to see the range of entries come through. Whether it’s a school looking to create an outdoor learning space, a care home wanting to enhance wellbeing, or a local charity improving a shared space, this initiative is about delivering something that has a lasting impact for both people and nature.”
