Interactive storytelling, puppet activities, animal encounters and a new ride will feature throughout the school holidays
Families can step into their own summer adventure when Fairytale Farm’s popular Fairytale Festival returns from Saturday 18 July to Tuesday 1 September 2026.
The six-week celebration will feature interactive storytelling, puppet activities, trail games, animal experiences and a Snow White-themed competition, alongside the Chipping Norton attraction’s new permanent ride and play areas.
Festival hosts will appear throughout the day to welcome visitors, explain the programme and encourage children and adults to join in with the activities.
During interactive storytelling sessions, children will be invited to become characters and help shape the tale. Families will also be able to meet puppets, learn how they are brought to life and have a go at performing for themselves.
A series of summer games and challenges will be positioned around the Farm, while visitors who correctly answer five questions about the story of Snow White can enter a prize draw to win a Family Annual Pass worth £150.
Nick Laister, owner of Fairytale Farm, said:
“The Fairytale Festival is all about encouraging children to use their imaginations and become part of the stories rather than simply watching them. Our festival hosts will help families join in with storytelling, puppets, games and challenges throughout the day.”
He continued:
“There will be plenty of scheduled entertainment, but families will also be able to explore the Farm at their own pace. They can meet our animals, play in Fairy Dell, discover Dino Valley and ride our brand new Journey to Alice’s Wonderland, so every family can create a day that suits them.”
Special animal experiences will take place at selected times throughout the summer. These are expected to include Feed a Furry Friend, Chucks & Ducks and Alpaca Chatter.
Smaller furry and feathered animals will feature during morning sessions, followed by alpacas and other animals during the afternoon. Activities may vary according to weather and animal welfare requirements.
The festival will be the first full summer season for Fairytale Farm’s new ride, Journey to Alice’s Wonderland. Families board colourful snail vehicles for a gentle journey through indoor and outdoor scenes inspired by Alice’s adventures.
Other attractions included with admission include the interactive Enchanted Walk, Fairy Dell, Dino Valley, Dino Dig, the Huff & Puff Adventure Playground, Queen of Hearts Crazy Cues, the Mad Hatter’s Playground and the Alfie & Friends animal trail. And kids meals are reduced by 15%, as part of the Government’s Great British Summer Savings scheme.
The festival will conclude with additional entertainment over the August Bank Holiday weekend. From Saturday 29 to Monday 31 August, roaming characters inspired by the story of Dick Whittington will entertain visitors with comedy, games, pantomime-style encounters and photograph opportunities.
Nick added:
“This is our biggest programme of summer activities, and it brings together everything that Fairytale Farm is about: imaginative play, friendly animals, inclusive family fun and experiences that children can take part in together.”
The Fairytale Festival runs daily from 18 July to 1 September 2026. Fairytale Farm is open from 10am until 5pm.
Advance booking is recommended through the Fairytale Farm website. There are no special tickets required; just purchase standard admission tickets.
