INTX Builds on Green Tourism Gold Award Success with Another Year of Mersey Forest Volunteering

INTX, a leading coach and chauffeur hire company, is continuing to build on its sustainability credentials following its achievement of the prestigious Green Tourism Gold Award last year — the highest level of accreditation within the scheme — with the team once again returning to volunteer with The Mersey Forest, participating in tree planting at Lunt Meadows Nature Reserve.

Building on Gold: Maintaining the Highest Standards

The Green Tourism Gold Award, one of the most respected and independently assessed sustainability accreditations in the UK travel and tourism sector, was awarded to INTX last year in recognition of the company’s measurable and genuine commitment to environmentally responsible practices.

Since achieving gold status, INTX has remained focused on upholding and advancing the green practices that earned the accolade — from fleet management and route efficiency to supplier relationships and staff engagement.

Andrew Globe, Managing Director of INTX, said:

“Receiving the Green Tourism Gold Award last year was a proud moment for everyone at INTX. But for us, it was never about reaching a finish line — it was about raising the bar. We remain fully committed to creating and maintaining green practices that continue to evolve, and this year’s volunteering with the Mersey Forest is a reflection of that ongoing dedication.”

The INTX Team Returns to The Mersey Forest for Tree Planting

For another year running, the INTX team has volunteered with The Mersey Forest — one of the UK’s largest and most established community forest initiatives, spanning Merseyside and North Cheshire.

Team members participated in tree planting sessions, directly contributing to the Forest’s mission to improve air quality, increase biodiversity, and create accessible green spaces for local communities.

Andrew Globe, Managing Director of INTX, added:

“Volunteering with the Mersey Forest has become something our whole team looks forward to. Getting out on the ground and planting trees is a reminder of why our sustainability journey matters — and it’s something we’re proud to do together, year after year.”

A Sustainable Future for the Travel Industry

INTX’s sustainability efforts span the full breadth of its operations, including ongoing fleet reviews to prioritise fuel efficiency and lower emissions, responsible route planning to minimise unnecessary mileage, and supply chain decisions aligned with the company’s environmental values.

The company has stated its continued commitment to raising its own standards and demonstrating that responsible, high-quality travel is achievable within the coach and chauffeur hire sector.
