Christmas Lights Bus returns by popular demand

Oxford Bus Company today announced its ‘Christmas Lights Bus’ will return this month to further spread some festive cheer.

It follows the success of the Oxford Lights Festival last month, which saw a decorated City Sightseeing Oxford open-top bus lead a tour. Thanks to an overwhelming positive public response to the event Oxford Bus Company and JACK FM have decided to fund another three tours.

Up to 10 volunteers from local charities KEEN Oxford, Yellow Submarine and Mencap will also help make it an event to remember. They will be on-board, dressed in Christmas clothing and helping to deliver presents to disabled children and young people on bus routes around Oxford.

The tours will take place between 4pm and 8pm on Monday 14th, Tuesday 15th and Wednesday 16th December. The sparkly bus will be playing soundtracks created by JACK FM.

Please check the Oxford Bus Company website and social media for maps of the routes.

It will visit areas including Oxford city centre, Cowley, Iffley, Headington, Wood Farm, Blackbird Leys, Horspath, Risinghurst, Marston, Radley, Kennington, Abingdon, Wootton, Cumnor, Botley and Cutteslowe.

Phil Southall, Oxford Bus Company Managing Director said: “The Oxford Lights Festival helped spread so much cheer during a challenging time for us all and so we decided to take it a step further. We will be operating another three ‘Christmas Lights Bus’ tours around Oxford in partnership with JACK FM and three local charities. We’re pleased to be giving something back and are looking forward to helping share some goodwill and joy at Christmas in a COVID-safe way.”
