The Oxford Bus Company has been named as one of the top six large bus operators in the UK in a prestigious national bus industry award.

It has been shortlisted in the Route One Awards, dubbed ‘The Oscars of the bus, coach and mini-bus industry’, in the Large Bus Operator category. The awards recognise and celebrate achievements, innovation and the highest standards of excellence in all aspects of operations. The awards ceremony takes place in Birmingham in October.

Phil Southall, Oxford Bus Company Managing Director, said: “This nomination is testament to the consistent hard work, dedication and customer service of our team. It is also a reflection of our strategy that focuses on delivering market leading technology, environmental excellence and a world-class customer experience and service.”

Tim Deakin of Route One said: “We received a record number of entries for this year’s awards, but more than just the quantity, it was the quality of the submissions that stood out. The 2019 shortlist reflects that – from the big names to the small operators, the list of finalists is an incredible and varied line-up of exemplary operators driving forward the industry. Congratulations and good luck to all our finalists.”

The other finalists in the Large Bus Operators category are Arriva Yorkshire, Go South Coast, Nottingham City Transport, Reading Buses and Stagecoach East Scotland.
