Oxford Official Walking Tours launch Festive Tour for the holiday and Christmas party season!

With the holiday season upon us, Oxford Official Walking Tours launch a seasonal addition to their walking tours programme – the Festive Private Group Tour. This brand-new tour, led by a jolly guide, takes in Oxford’s Christmas lights and sights with tales of the city’s Christmases past, present and future.

Tours are available from Thursday 17 November 2022, for office teams, social clubs or groups of any size*. Don your santa hat (provided) and follow your festive guide from your preferred meeting point to your final destination in the city – be it the office party venue or one of Oxford’s finest pubs for a warming glass of mulled wine.

This seasonal tour weaves its way through the city, past University colleges and along gargoyled alleyways. With Oxford’s dreaming spires as the backdrop, there’ll be time to admire the twinkling Christmas tree in historic Broad Street and soak up the smells and atmosphere of the Christmas Market.**

Commenting on the new tour Annie Macdonald, Tour Desk Group Leader at Experience Oxfordshire, said:

“We’re so excited for the launch of our seasonal tour, as are our guides, who can’t wait to get into the spirit of Christmas! Our award-winning Official Tours are one of the very the best ways to see Oxford and hear its fascinating facts and stories. Illuminated by the city’s Christmas lights, our festive tour adds a fun and novel twist to getting to the office Christmas party!”

Hayley Beer-Gamage, CEO of Experience Oxfordshire, added:

“Oxford Official Walking Tours offers a great experience for locals and visitors alike, so we’re excited to see this latest, seasonal addition to our tours programme, appealing to businesses, clubs and so many more in the area. Our personable guides will be happy to consider special festive requests and will be sure to add a touch of fun to our new tour as they relay the history and tales of the city they call home.”

“The development of our award-winning tours programme is a key element of Oxford’s post pandemic recovery, ensuring a warm and friendly welcome is extended to all participants, near or far, as we welcome back more and more visitors to the city.”
