Oxford Visitor Information Centre Recognised for Customer Service in Industry Awards

Oxford’s Visitor Information Centre has been awarded Silver for Visitor Information Service of the Year at last night’s Beautiful South Awards for Excellence which were held at the Grand Hotel Brighton.

 

The awards recognise and celebrate excellence in the tourism sector and inspire other businesses to reinvest and raise standards in quality, innovation and customer service.

 

The Information Centre on Broad Street in Oxford welcomes half a million visitors a year and helps to ensure that they have the best possible experience while visiting the city and county. Operated by Experience Oxfordshire, the Destination Management Organisation for Oxfordshire, the team offer a multilingual welcome, sale of tickets to local attractions, gifts and souvenirs – many of which are locally sourced, and great expertise of the destination.

Heath Farm Holiday Cottages – Silver for Self Catering Accommodation of the Year

The Courtyard at Wainhill  – Silver for Bed and Breakfast of the Year

Oxford Royale Academy – Bronze for International Tourism Award

The Wychwood Inn – highly commended for Pub of the Year

Oxford’s Visitor Information Centre is based on historic Broad Street, and welcomes over half a million visitors through its doors each year from both domestic and international markets. It provides many services for visitors, including information provision, left luggage, tickets sales for attractions, tours and events, accommodation booking, and sale of maps, guidebooks and gifts. The centre also provides services for conference visitors to Oxford, and offers training on information provision to Oxfordshire businesses.
