Experience a Traditional Cotswolds Brewery and Pubs with this new tour!

Ever wanted the real experience of sipping a pint of beer in a traditional Cotswolds country pub? Now you can, with your own designated driver!

Join Go Cotswolds on their popular Brewery & Pub Tour, offering a weekly “craft brewery and traditional English pub experience” every Saturday. Learn more about their curated, authentically English itinerary here (and by authentically English, we mean lots of chances to drink beer)…

There are few things more English than sipping a pint of beer and enjoying a meal in a traditional country pub. Enjoy this Great British experience as part of a weekly tour with family-run company Go Cotswolds.

Starting on 7th March 2020, the new Go Cotswolds Brewery & Pub Tour starts with a pick-up from Stratford-upon-Avon or Moreton-in-Marsh rail stations. (If you’re based in Oxford for your stay, Moreton-in-Marsh is really easy, and inexpensive, to get to by train from Oxford).

Take a sneak-peek at the stops with us…

  • First stop, Purity Brewing Co. The craft beer producer is nestled in the beautiful Warwickshire countryside near to Stratford-upon-Avon. Whether you’re a craft beer connoisseur or, let’s face it, just love a pint – this award-winning, eco-conscious brewery is a must-visit. Passengers on a Go Cotswolds tour will enjoy a 90-minute tour of Purity’s cutting-edge facilities and, of course, will be able to taste some of their delicious beers!

  • Next, Go Cotswolds passengers will be treated to a delicious home-cooked lunch and a pint of Purity ale (or a soft drink) at The Fleece Inn, a 15th Century pub in the pretty village of Bretforton, on the edge of the Cotswolds. “The Fleece is the epitome of a traditional English country pub”, says Lisa Benjamin, co-owner of Go Cotswolds, “it’s cosy and atmospheric inside, has a lovely beer garden and serves great food and drink. It’s been owned by the National Trust since the 1970s, so there are plenty of fascinating stories to tell!”

  • A stroll around the charming Cotswolds ‘wool town’ of Chipping Campden is just what’s needed after lunch. Here, with over an hour of free time, you might like to continue your ale trail in one or more of Chipping Campden’s five lovely pubs. If you fancy a break from the beer (yeah, right!), maps provided by Go Cotswolds point out places of interest, including wonderful examples of historic Cotswolds stone architecture, quaint thatched cottages, grand churches, boutique shops, independent cafés selling excellent locally roasted coffee and much more.

  • The final stop of the day is a visit to the tiny Cotswolds village of Ebrington. Landlords Claire and Jim will warmly welcome you to The Ebrington Arms, voted the “Best Village Pub in the UK”! Take up a chair by the cosy fireplace, or soak up the sun in the pretty beer garden, but don’t forget to sample a pint of their very own locally brewed Yubby ale!

After all that, you might be grateful that you’ve got a designated driver to get back to either Moreton-in-Marsh or Stratford-upon-Avon!

The Go Cotswolds Brewery & Pub Tour departs every Saturday (March to December, prior booking essential) and costs £75 per person (adults over 18 only). The price includes a tour and tasting at Purity Brewing Co., lunch and a drink at The Fleece Inn. Minibus transport is also included, with a free pick-up and drop-off from Stratford-upon-Avon or Moreton-in-Marsh rail station.
